Café Lucia’s existing website felt outdated in both design and structure. The layout was basic, navigation wasn’t intuitive, and the overall experience didn’t reflect a modern café brand.

For a hospitality business, especially one relying on local foot traffic, the website needs to be fast, clean, and easy to navigate — particularly on mobile.

I redesigned and rebuilt the entire website from the ground up with a strong focus on:

The goal was to make the site feel premium, calm, and welcoming — just like walking into the café.
Web Design
I redesigned the structure to move away from a simple “3 page layout” and instead create a more natural flow:
- Hero section with clear call-to-actions
- Structured menu categories (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.)
- Clear opening hours and contact details
- Integrated map for Ardkeen location
- Cleaner typography and refreshed colour palette
The menu was redesigned with smooth filtering between categories so users can quickly find what they’re looking for without scrolling through long blocks of content.
Web Development
The site was rebuilt using modern frontend technologies to ensure performance and scalability.
Key technical highlights:
- Built with Next.js for speed and SEO
- Tailwind CSS for clean, consistent styling
- Optimized images for performance
- Fully responsive layout
- Structured JSON menu system for scalability
I also slightly enhanced the existing logo for sharper display on modern screens while keeping the original design intact.
The foundation is now future-proof and easy to extend — whether that’s adding online ordering, CMS integration, or promotional sections later on.
